The Job Responsibilities

This Software Engineer II is a hybrid position, a minimum of 3 days a week in the Andover MA office.

The Software Engineer II position is responsible for product software architecture, design, implementation, and testing. This position establishes and enhances procedures to optimize development efficiency, software quality, and product cost.

  • Work within a team of engineers and test personnel to produce high-quality deliverables during the design, implementation, integration, test and support phases of product development. Specifically, with minimal supervision, shows the ability to diagnose, debug and resolve defects; design small modules and functions, translates designs into functional, tested software.
  • Comply with all internal SOPs and FDA and industry regulations.
  • Utilize the software configuration management system to correctly maintain SW files. Able to correctly build SW and install SW in a development and product environment.
  • Support clinical engineers, quality engineers, service engineers and test personnel by executing tests, reproducing defects, documenting defect analysis in a defect tracking tool.
  • Take directions from senior engineering staff, seek out advice as needed; respond to coaching, analyze successes and failures in order to improve, and take on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.
  • Provide feedback during code and design reviews.

Your Qualifications

Education:

  • BS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • MS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred.

Must Have Qualifications

  • 2-5 years previous hands-on experience in software design, analysis and troubleshooting in an engineering environment (1-3 years of experience with a MS degree).
  • Ability to effectively provide code and design feedback as well as communicate internally.
  • Strong C/C++ development experience in an embedded environment.
  • Experience developing software for Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), preferably ThreadX.
  • Experience with embedded systems debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO.
  • Experience developing, integrating, or maintaining low-level software components including device drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with NXP i.MX93 or similar NXP ARM-based processors.
  • Board bring-up and hardware/software integration experience.
  • Familiarity with embedded bootloaders, memory architectures, and processor peripherals.
  • Experience with JTAG-based debugging tools and embedded development environments.
  • TCP/IP networking experience.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as medical devices.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes consistent with FDA and IEC 62304 requirements.

 

The targeted pay range for this position is typically between $91,299 - $100,900. We note that the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.​ This position is eligible for the following additional compensation: annual bonus.
