Business Development Manager - National Accounts (Rental and Safety Services)

The Job Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager is essential for providing technical and application expertise across the full RSS solutions portfolio. This position will support the RSS Sales team, channel partners, and end-user customers nationwide. In addition, the role will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing key client relationships and business opportunities at a national level.

 

This is a US based position.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute national growth strategies to expand rental and safety services (RSS) revenue through both direct sales and channel partners.
  • Recruit, onboard, and support channel partners to ensure they are fully equipped to promote and deliver RSS solutions.
  • Monitor channel performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective or improvement actions.
  • Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including technical decision-makers, safety leaders, procurement teams, and influencers. Map account structures, build multi-level relationships, and establish Draeger as a trusted advisor.
  • Support customers and partners with solution design, product selection, and technical problem-solving.
  • Deliver product and service training sessions to enhance partner and customer competence.
  • Assist channel partners in Bid & Tender management for complex applications and tailored solutions.  
  • Manage business development activities across all U.S. regions with a consistent strategy, messaging, and execution.
  • Travel extensively to support customers, channel partners, events, and field initiatives.
  • Represent Draeger at industry events and relevant trade associations to promote the company’s capabilities, strengthen market presence, and gather valuable feedback from end users.
  • Assist the RSS Marketing Manager with product launches as required and provide technical benefits & features.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Your Qualifications

  • A degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university and/or 5 plus years of job related experience in a similar position
  • Five or more years' product experience in industrial safety equipment or a related field
  • Must be able to succeed in a complex, matrix environment where others' activities need to be influenced without direct lines of management authority.
  • Must be results-oriented with an ability to stay focused on objectives in the face of shifting priorities.
  • Must be able to function as a member of a highly productive and collaborative team
  • Must have excellent communication skills and effectively articulate and communicate company and product information to external and internal customers.
  • Must be able to pull/push products greater than 70 lbs. with mechanical assistance (pallet jack).  
  • Must be able to ascend\descend tall ladders and lift products.
  • Local Safety Council Training and TWIC card required (paid by Draeger).  
  • Must be proficient in the use of PC applications, including MS office suite, and able to use or learn other applications as business dictates.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Must be customer-focused.
  • Demonstrates aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
