The Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a Sr Director, Sales and Marketing based anywhere in the United States.
The Sr. Director, Sales & Marketing leads the growth and profitability of the business across assigned markets, product portfolios, and geographic regions. This executive role is responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies, driving organic growth, expanding into new markets, and building strong customer and channel partner relationships. The position provides leadership to sales, business development, product management, and marketing teams while ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute sales, marketing, and business growth strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Create annual sales plans and drive initiatives to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Partner with senior leadership, product management, and market leaders on strategic planning and execution.
- Identify growth opportunities and implement solutions to improve business performance.
- Optimize sales resource allocation to maximize market coverage and results.
Sales & Business Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams of Business Development Managers and marketing professionals.
- Drive effective sales funnel management, forecasting, and pipeline growth.
- Ensure adoption of value-selling methodologies and customer-focused sales strategies.
- Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with key customers, end users, and channel partners.
- Differentiate products and services by delivering solutions that address customer needs and business challenges.
Marketing Leadership
- Develop and execute regional marketing plans aligned with business strategy and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with global product management teams to ensure alignment between regional market needs and overall portfolio strategy.
- Partner with sales leadership to execute integrated growth initiatives and customer engagement programs.
- Lead and manage product marketing resources to support business objectives.
Channel & Distributor Management
- Strengthen and expand distributor and channel partner networks.
- Coach and develop distributor partners to improve performance and market penetration.
- Participate in annual business planning and quarterly performance reviews with key partners.
- Evaluate and approve distributor network changes to ensure optimal market coverage.
People Leadership
- Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development.
- Conduct field visits to assess capabilities, support skill development, and drive performance improvements.
- Create development plans and succession strategies for team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Utilize CRM tools and sales analytics to drive forecasting accuracy and business insights.
- Manage budgets, expenses, and company assets responsibly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, import/export regulations, and safety standards.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or the equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Minimum 7-10 years sales / business development leadership experience for personal protective products to industry.
- Experience leading field sales teams/BDM or other team preferred.
- Trained and knowledgeable in CRM software for forecasting and managing customer interactions.
- Preferred previous training in selling skills (e.g. Miller Heiman, etc.)
- Travel up to 75%
